Venezuela has just defeated the US 3-2 in the World Baseball Classic Final, and oh man do I need to speak my peace about DeRosa. Not only did he think the US were automatically in the the quarterfinal before the Italy game. He has put out horrific lineups throughout this tournament. Besides the DR game in which he did a great job managing in. Every other game during the bracket felt like puzzling moves after puzzling moves. Let’s strictly talk about tonight’s game. First was having Alex Bregman batting in the 5 hole. Bregman has been absolutely awful this tourney, meanwhile Gunnar Henderson has been electric. Like it just amazes me how you don’t go with the hot bats. Don’t even get me started on Byron Buxton over Pete Crow-Armstrong as Buxton has given you the same production as Bregman, absolutely nothing! This lineup tonight got one single hit against Eduardo Rodriguez. Yes ONE! not saying Rodriguez is a bad pitcher, but with the talent on this US roster that is inexcusable. Also I get Judge is the best hitter on the planet. But why keep him so high in the lineup still when he has been a no show as well? I don’t know, I just personally hope DeRosa never sniffs this team again because that was completely embarrassing. Congratulations to Venezuela on a earned victory though, as they had an amazing run.
