The UFC anti-doping program Combat Sports Anti-Doping issued an 18-month suspension to Conor McGregor on Tuesday.
CSAD announced that the suspension was for three “whereabout failures,” where McGregor missed tests on three different dates, and wouldn’t provide any legitimate information on his location.
The suspension is set to end on March 20, 2026. This is a little less than three months before the President Donald Trump’s birthday, which is June 14. This is relevant because that is when the President would host the UFC White house fight card, that McGregor desperately wants to be on, and would be his first fight since July 10, 2021.
On the UFC website, a CSAD news release stated, “”McGregor missed three attempted biological sample collections within a 12-month period in 2024, which constitutes a violation of the UFC ADP.”
The suspension comes one day following McGregor taking to “X” and saying “hey folks online, I’m out of here for a bit, see you again soon!”
His first missed test, which was on June 14, was coincidentally on the same day that it was announced his fight scheduled to be in UFC 303 against Michael Chandler was canceled by UFC CEO Dana White.
The original 24 month suspension was reduced to 18 months due to McGregor cooperation with the CSAD. He was also amidst recovering from a previous injury during that time.
