Will the RedHawks go 31-OH?

Will the RedHawks go 31-OH?

Some games haven’t came easy, but realistically, when do they? The Miami (OH) RedHawks are the only undefeated team in the country right now, which should be known, and the question is, will they finish that way?

Now, some may say, well, it’s the MAC. Who cares! The RedHawks have been flying high and have had the eyes of the country on them for the past couple of months due to this impressive feat. Overtime against UNCA. Overtime against Buffalo. Overtime against Kent State, and even final-second stands, like against UMass and most recently Western Michigan.

Travis Steele and the boys have two games left in the regular season, against two upper-mid conference opponents in Toledo and Ohio, and with a win, they’re home free.

As the 4th team in the past 20 years to enter March unbeaten, they may not be looked at like the other forces to do so. The other teams on the list include 13/14 Wichita State, 14/15 Kentucky, and 20/21 Gonzaga, so why should we care? Well, for one, it’s March, and that means anything can happen, but this RedHawks team is doing something in the MAC that hasn’t been seen since the 50s, and this is the modern era.

To the casual, this means nothing. A projected 11-seed in the Madness by Joe Lunardi, people may say, “Well, they’ll just be first round.” But what if they don’t? What if they go on a run, starting by winning their conference championship, and then do something in March that can easily happen? That’s why there’s one shining moment, isn’t it?

Just keep an eye out. Who knows what’ll happen now…
