I get it Knick fans, I really do, after waiting 53 years since your last championship, there’s bound to be a lot of built up energy. But some of the things I’ve seen online are downright scary. It’s to a point that I wouldn’t even want someone I care about attending one of these games or watch parties. I am all for partying and having a good time, but I don’t care what jersey you’re wearing, no one should fear for their safety walking out of a sporting event. I’ve seen multiple videos of Spurs fans simply walking down the street following game 3, only to have their jerseys ripped off their backs by a rabid group of Knick fans.

I almost feel bad for the true Knick fans, who aren’t savage animals, because this gives them such a bad rap. The people you see online assaulting each other are not true die hard Knicks fans in my eyes. They are people looking for an excuse to riot and avoid any consequences.

It’s gotten to a point that I wouldn’t even feel safe wearing a different team’s apparel in New York City. That’s not how sports should be. I’ve had plenty of experiences as both a supporter of the home team and the away team, but never have I seen anything like this. Sports are supposed to be fun and bring people together. This is not sports, this is a bunch of maniacs causing harm and trying to scare people away.
